Who We Are
Brown Law Office is A Durham Region Sole Proprietorship founded and run by Michelle E. Brown. Michelle has a degree in Political Science from McGill University and an LL.B from the University of Windsor. While at Windsor, Michelle elected to take the Civil Trial Advocacy Program and developed a fondness and passion for litigation.
Michelle understands the needs of her clients, which is an integral part of achieving success. Her experience has afforded her great success for her clients and their loved ones. Her compassion and understanding allow for her to communicate with clients on a level that makes it possible to become personally involved with her clients every step of the way.
Every case has her close attention from the beginning. Her advocacy for the clientele she represent spans through all levels of courts in Ontario, in addition to Administrative tribunals including the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) the Ontario Pension Appeals Board (OCRT), and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB).

Michelle represented the insurance industry as defence counsel, until she made the decision to advocate for plaintiffs in October of 2005. While she was a defence lawyer, Michelle worked for various insurance companies which gives her inside knowledge of the adjusting process. She has a great deal of understanding of how the adjusters assess claims and the procedure used to place a dollar value to their potential exposure. Knowing what to look for allows her to ensure each case is valued to have the maximum possible exposure noted on the file.
